Ele e Ela is a small, attractive restaurant. There is an inner dining room with elegantly simple high-backed seating and wooden tables, leading onto the terraced dining room which is open for those lovely warm Algarve evenings. The atmosphere is very welcoming, relaxed and unpretentious. The focus here is on great quality food professionally served.

At Ele e Ela you can find an inventive and original menu. The chef enjoys adding some creative flair - as well as oriental spices - to dishes such as lamb shanks. In fact, the Ele e Ela lamb dishes are a house speciality. Harald and his team use as much local and seasonal produce as possible, with a preference for organic food, thus ensuring the best flavors. The menu changes throughout the year, according to the seasons, however you can always count on a choice of meat and fish dishes as well as a good selection of vegetarian dishes.

The secret of Ele e Ela's success lies not only in the quality of the food. The service is prompt, friendly and professional, the wine selection has some very good Portuguese wines, and the prices represent very good value for money. Add to this the relaxed mood, and Ele e Ela becomes the kind of place that you return to time and time again. Over the years Ele e Ela has garnered a reputation for consistently delivering on food and service, building up a very loyal clientele.

Open every day except Wednesday for dinner, Ele e Ela is very popular but not particularly large, so telephone reservations are recommended.

Special mention for the Ele e Ela tasting menu which is served in the low season. This is superb value and gives you four different courses to enjoy. A special word too for the desserts - all home-made and all delicious.
