Casa Velha Restaurant in Quinta do Lago returned to its Portuguese roots in 2023, offering a delicious and fresh menu where local produce shines, where the menu changes with the seasons, and where the flavours feed the soul as well as the palate.

Going back to its deep roots, Casa Velha showcases the enduring deliciousness of Portuguese cuisine, where the flavours of seasonal produce shine and apparently simple dishes contain a whole world of flavour.

Casa Velha occupies a prime location in Quinta do Lago - one of the Algarve's premier resorts. Sitting atop a hill, the restaurant overlooks the resort, its golf courses and lake. The name Casa Velha translates from the Portuguese as the 'Old House'. In more than a century of existence, Casa Velha has seen amazing changes in its surroundings. The restaurant is next to what was the original hub of the dream that became Quinta do Lago. In the 1970's Andre Jordan used the house as planning centre, clubhouse and, of course, restaurant.

Now Casa Velha has gone back to its roots, with a new look that is rustically welcoming, with wooden decor and traditional azulejos, perfectly in keeping with the history of the venue. The restaurant follows the changing of the seasons, offering cosy yet elegant indoor dining in the main room, as well as superb outside dining on the gorgeous garden patio, the air perfumed by citrus trees. The menu too follows the seasons, with a fresh take on time-honoured Portuguese flavours and dishes, with many dishes made for sharing.

In keeping with its commitment to sustainability and local focus, much of the produce used at Casa Velha comes from local suppliers, including Q Farm, Quinta do Lago's very own vegetable garden. And Casa Velha has a complete vegan menu available, from starters to dessert.

Casa Velha is just one of the super restaurant options in Quinta do Lago. Bovino is the resort's signature steakhouse restaurant, Casa do Lago is a relaxed all day, lakeside restaurant and The Shack Bar is for food, fun and drinks in the summer sun. For all year round dining and drinks, not to mention great sporting action, Dano's is the place to be. UMAMI - fine, modern Japanese dining and cocktails, overlooking the lake.
