O Telheiro do Infante

O Telheiro do Infante first opened its doors in 1976. This family run restaurant started life as a small wooden structure serving traditional Algarvian dishes with particular emphasis on seafood and the freshest fish. Over the years the restaurant has grown and is now a two storey structure. But the views continue as impressive as ever and the sea continues to offer up its harvest of delicious fish.

The restaurant, on the first floor, is traditional in décor with some lovely blue decorative tiles adorning the walls. The signature dishes of O Telheiro do Infante include the Lobster Ricepot and the Mussel Cataplana. The fish of the day here is always a great choice - from the ocean to your plate with a short detour via the kitchen. Delicious! If you are a meat eater, don't despair - there is also a good choice of pork, beef and chicken dishes.

The atmosphere at O Telheiro do Infante is relaxed. This is the place to savour a leisurely meal while enjoying the spectacular location and the rich history of the town. Sagres is often referred to as 'the end of the world', where in times gone by it was believed one could fall off the edge of the world. The town is closely linked with the golden era of the Portuguese Discoveries and Prince Henry the Navigator and the nearby Fortress is a fascinating place to visit.
