The Benagil Express is a 2h15 minute boat trip from Portimão to the Benagil cave. Rather than a quick 1 hour trip directly to Benagil and back, the trip allows you to discover a dozen magnificent caves along the coastline from Portimão to beyond Carvoeiro. There is time to enter the caves by boat and explore the sinuous lines of the coastline, get some great photos, relax in the sun and even cool off in the water. You get to see the amazing sea arches at Praia da Marinha and the unbelieveably translucent waters that bathe the shores here. Suitable for the mobility impaired, the Benagil Express trips are one of the best ways to not only see the Benagil cave, but to also explore the coastline.
The Benagil Express trip lasts 2h15m and departs from Portimão, heading eastwards. You pass the castle of S. João do Arade at Ferragudo and head out to sea, following the coastline of cliffs and coves, passing the amazing rock formations at Boneca and Algar Seco, past the beaches of Carvoeiro, Centeanes and Carvalho, before coming to Benagil where you can see one of the most famous sea caves. All along the route, the Benagil Express takes you into 10 or 12 different caves (depending on the sea and weather conditions), all stunning in their natural beauty. Past Benagil, time to see the gorgeous sea arches at Praia da Marinha, considered one of the most picturesque beaches in Europe and to enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, if you wish.
