Quinta da Ria
Algarve
Located within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, this 18-hole golf course offers spectacular views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful beach of Cacela Velha.
Right from the start of the round you will be able to recognize the work and design of a world renowned Golf Course Architect - Rocky Roquemore. The idea of the architecture was to create a challenging golf course but yet maintain the original natural landscape with thousands of ancient olive and carob trees. Over 100 strategically shaped bunkers as well as undulating greens and artificial lakes were added to complement this layout.
From the first to the eighteenth hole, you will be challenged to use every club in your bag. The biggest challenge is however, the 10th Hole (Signature Hole) with its 422m PAR 4 - Stroke Index 1. Game strategy is required from the tee to the green. We challenge you to cross over the large tree known as 'Love Tree' and reach the green in two strokes!
The back nine holes takes you back to the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Ria Formosa. Take some time to appreciate the huge variety of wild life of species that inhabit this area. While walking down to the closing hole refresh your mind to the wonderful golf experience you've just enjoyed.
