Monte Clerigo Beach

Breath-takingly beautiful

Before your toes have even touched the sand you will be glad you chose to visit the beach at Monte Clerigo. The winding road that sweeps down from the cliffs tops to the sea below provides a view of such stunning beauty it will take your breath away.

The small colourful houses of the village tumble down the hillside and cluster around the rocky outcrop at the southern end of the beach with small beach cottages facing the waves.

There are several restaurants and snack bars to choose from – perfect for laid back al fresco dining. The beach itself, holder of the prestigious Blue Flag, is a broad curve of fine sand, backed by cliffs and dunes. The clear water is excellent for snorkelling and at low tide there are plenty of rock pools to explore which are ideal for little ones.

This is also a popular surfing spot and families also enjoy coming here in the summer months but it doesn't get crowded at all being a fairly large beach.

Access is easy – by ramps and wooden stairs although in busy seasons parking your car can mean you have a bit of a walk. The beach is well signposted from main roads. Coming from the south, turn left just before the village of Aljezur and follow the signs.
