New Year's Eve in Albufeira, Carpe Nox 2025/2026

Albufeira is famous for its New Year's Eve celebrations and the 2025/ 2026  'Albufeira Carpe Nox' will be bigger and better than ever! Fireworks, aerial acrobatics, an amazing sea and sky laser show, with 500 drones, fabulous concerts and DJ sessions on the beach, plus Paderne Medieval Fair. Don't miss it!​ And for 2026, there is a new show scheduled for 5pm on the 1st Jan, to start the year off in spectacular fashion.

One of the best events in Europe, Albufeira has another spectacular New Year's Eve programme for New Year. There will be concerts by the sea, street entertainment, street food, and of course, the massive and unique party on the beach and interactive show on 31st December to welcome in the new year.

Carpe Nox is where the sea, the sky, the beaches and the people come together to embrace a fabulously creative, immersive and entertaining spectacle.
The huge stage on Praia dos Pescadores with mesmerizing multimedia displays welcomes different bands and acts, Headline performance is by iconic Portuguese band Silence4, back on stage after a 30 year break.

The countdown to midnight and the new year will unleash the unique Carpe Nox show. There will be stunning fireworks, aerial acrobatics, a laser light show on sea and sky, with 500 drones, and a specially created and interactive soundtrack. 
The party continues into the early hours of 2026 with DJ Wilson Honorado on stage.

This is one of the biggest New Year's Eve parties around with huge crowds joining the celebrations by the sea. See below for information and a map of access points.

1st Jan - New Year's Day Show
The first sunset party of the year! Live music with Portuguese band Quatro e Meia - a good-vibes concert with great entertainment to start the year.

Paderne Medieval Festival - 1st to 4th Jan 2026
Albufeira Carpe Nox programme also includes the fascinating Medieval Festival at Paderne. From 1st to 4th Jan Paderne steps back in time to the 14th century, with medieval markets, music, troubadours, knights and historic re-enactments and jousts.

Albufeira Carpe Nox 2026 - Map and Access



Entry to the Carpe Nox celebrations are free, and there is free circulation between each area. The map above and the information below is simply to help you plan your visit.

🔴 The Red Zone is expected to have the highest concentration of people. Access to this area is via several routes connected to Praça dos Pescadores, namely the Pau da Bandeira viewpoint, Rua dos Telheiros, Avenida 25 de Abril, and Largo do Cais Herculano.
🟠 To reach the Orange Zone (where a high concentration of people is also expected), you should enter the venue through Inatel Beach.
🟡 Access to the Yellow Zone (which is expected to have a moderate concentration of people) can also be made via Inatel Beach. This sector can additionally be reached through the tunnel on Rua 5 de Outubro or via the Peneco Beach stairway.
🟢 To reach the Green Zone (where a lower concentration of people is expected), you may enter the venue via the Peneco Beach stairway as well as through the tunnel on Rua 5 de Outubro.
