The Loulé Carnival is the oldest event of its kind in Portugal and propably the biggest.
The 3-day Carnival attracts thousands of people -some taking part and some there to watch and have fun! And fun is certainly the order of the day, with parades and floats, music, dancing, food and drink - it's a great event for all ages.
The festivities begin at 3pm each day, on Avenida José da Costa Mealha. Entry 2€.
Don't miss this spectacular event!
At this time of year the almond blossoms cover the landscape with a white and pink mantle, which will have served as inspiration for the flowers used in the Carnaval event. It is in this context that, on Saturday, February 8, participants will be able to visit the Workshop / Museum of Carnival and participate in the free activity organized by the Municipality of Loulé, “The Magic of Carnival Flowers”.
Those with a sweet tooth will be able to “Play Carnival in the Kitchen” with partner Ana Figueiras and learn how to make traditional Filhós de Laranja. This activity is available on the 16th, 18th or 20th of February.
On Carnival Tuesday (February 25) it will be possible to learn to capture the essence of this centenary event through the lens of a photographic device in the activity, “Batida Fotográfica at the Carnival of Loulé”, which is partnered with photographer Vítor Pina. All activities have limited spaces and are subject to prior registration.
The monthly schedule of activities that Loulé Criativo has is available on the website www.loulecriativo.pt and Loulé Criativo's social networks, through 289 400 829 or loulecriativo@cm-loule.pt
