FOLKFARO is an annual festival in the Algarve's capital, to celebrate traditional folk music and dance.
Traditional songs and dances of the world are showcased at FOLKFARO, the largest festival of its kind south of Lisbon. The event opens on 18th August with a spectacular gala and runs for nine days.
This is an event for everyone. Expect street parades and street theatre, shows, special programmes for children and the elderly, dance workshops and more... International Folklore shows take place daily on the waterfront stage..
This is the 16th edition of the festival, organised by the Folkloric Group of Faro and certified by the international organisation CIOFF®.
The Opening Gala is at Teatro das Figuras on 18th at 9.30pm.
