Join the West Coast Raid - a fabulous cycling tour organized by The Bike Shed at Quinta do Lago's The Campus. The tour explores the west coast of Portugal, south of Lisbon as well as the Algarve, finishing in style at the luxurious Quinta do Lago resort.
Special guest on the tour is Paul Kimmage, reknowned cyclist and sports journalist. He'll be sharing his experiences of riding in the Tour de France and his insights as a leading sports journalist.
The Campus is the resort new sports hub providing top class cycling, tennis, padel and sports facilities for professional athletes and enthusiastic amateurs. The Bike Shed, focusing on two wheeled activity, has organized a cycling tour along the spectacular west coast. After arrival and briefing day, the tour starts at Sesimbra, just south of Lisbon. 4 days of cycling follow as the tour makes it way along the Atlantic coast before turning inland to explore the Algarve hills, then heading south to Quinta do Lago on the final day.
Day 1 - SESIMBRA TO SANTIAGO CACÉM - 100kms, exploring the hiils of the Serra da Arrábida, the beaches and dunes at Tróia.
Day 2 - SANTIAGO CACÉM – SÃO TEOTÓNIO 83kms, a day exploring the magnificent Atlantic coasline of the Alentejo, before enjoying some delicious local food.
Day 3 - SÃO TEOTÓNIO - PORTIMÃO - 90kms, leaving the coast for the hills, ascendig to Foia, in Monchique, the highest point in the Algarve at 902m. Then downhill to the town of Portimão.
Day 4 - PORTIMÃO- QUINTA DO LAGO - a country route to the medieval town of Silves, the pretty village of Alte before heading to the coast and some luxury rest at Quinta do Lago and some delicious and replenishing food at Bovino Steakhouse.
