Operation Green Mountain - by Zoomarine

Operation Green Mountain (Operação Montanha Verde) by Zoomarine is back, helping make the Algarve greener. Thousands of plants offered by Zoomarine will be planted by hundreds of volunteers in a community effort to help nature. Volunteers registration is required.

Zoomarine is well known as the Algarve's leading attraction. Less known perhaps is their work rescuing and rehabbing marine wildlife and the educational and environmental work carried out across the region. Operation Green Mountain, which began in 2016, following devastating wildfires in the area, involves the planting of thousands of trees and plants, helping create a greener Algarve. Since its inception, Operation Green Mountain has seen almost 80.000 trees, of 99 different species, planted by 8.000 volunteers in 25 different areas of the Algarve.

Operation Green Mountain 2023 - 25th and 27th Nov.
This year, Zoomarine will once again contribute the trees and they will be planted at the Gambelus Campus of the University of Algarve.
Volunteers are needed, and registration is required (separate registrations for each day)
