Wine Cellar at Vila Vita Parc
a unique underground world of wine
Vila Vita Parc is a superb, award-winning, 5-star resort overlooking the glittering ocean and golden sands of the Algarve coastline. One of the most unique and unusual dining venues at Vila Vita Parc is the Wine Cellar. Discreet, exclusive, and for those in the know, the cellar, also known as the Cave de Vinhos, is located 8 metres underground, hidden beneath the resort’s pristine lawns. A circular stone staircase gives entry to this magical kingdom of wine, the rough brick walls opening into a vaulted cellar. Here, the largest private wine collection in Portugal awaits you. Over 11.000 bottles of wine, including 1.200 references of the best wines from Portugal and around the world, rest on the shelves. Among them, gems such as Madeira Verdelho bottle from 1850 and Château Mouton Rothschild 1er Cru Classé 1996.
The Wine Cellar was custom built with solid clay bricks, some over 150 years old, imported from Egypt, Austria and Greece, to better maintain stable temperatures and humidity, protecting the corks and the precious content of the thousands of bottles of wine that are stored here.
At the Wine Cellar you can enjoy wine tasting and Wine Cellar Dining Experiences. The Sommelier is on hand, with fascinating insights into the wines and their stories. The Wine Cellar experiences are perfect for a different romantic experience and an ideal scenario for a fabulous wedding proposal, for a gathering of wine-lovers, or for a discreet business meal.
