Restaurant Fortaleza da Luz is one of the most famous landmarks in the small fishing village turned resort of Praia da Luz. A beautiful and evocative building dating from 1670's, the Fort once served to protect the village and its inhabitants. Nowdays it is a lovely restaurant where you can enjoy the historic atmosphere, great food, wine and music, and some of the best views in Praia da Luz.
Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Restaurant Fortaleza da Luz has amazing views, beautiful, lush gardens and an interior with stone vaulted ceilings. All of these components, along with the very good international cuisine, have made the restaurant a point of reference in the Praia da Luz restaurant scence.  They also make Fortaleza da Luz a prime venue for weddings, celebrations and events.
Open for lunch and dinner, Fortaleza da Luz is famous for its Jazz Lunch BBQ Buffet every Sunday.
