O Luis Restaurant and Bar sits right on the golden sands of Alvor beach, one of the most enviable locations in the Algarve. With stunning views at your fingertips, sand between your toes and delicious food on the table, spending time at O Luis is a sensory delight.

At any time of year, O Luis Restaurant is a prime location. In the summer the long sun drenched days are conducive to lingering lunches, chilled cocktails and lazy candle-lit dinners. With the Atlantic just a few metres from your table, you can relax on the terrace sipping some sangria or even enjoy a therapeutic massage. In the winter, a walk on the beach followed by some hearty Portuguese cuisine, accompanied by the sounds of the waves, is a perfect way to relax. The views from O Luis are simply breathtaking. To the east you have the fascinating rock formations and cove beaches near Prainha and to the west you have miles of beach, the Ria Alvor estuary and in the distance the historical town of Lagos.

The views from O Luis aren’t the only attraction. The food and atmosphere are pretty special too. Much more than just a beachside café, breakfast is served from 10am and snacks are available all day. The à la carte menu for lunch and dinner has a very good selection of Portuguese and international dishes, with special mention for the fresh fish and seafood. There are daily specials, reflecting what is in season and what the fisherman caught that morning!

The atmosphere at O Luis is great. It manages to be relaxed and unhurried as befits a beach restaurant, yet still producing quality food served with professional care. The staff are enormously helpful and friendly, always happy to have a chat and give some tips on local cuisine and wines.

Given its fantastic location, O Luis is ideal for parties and celebrations. Group menus can be arranged and you can even enjoy a take away service of their à la carte menu if you prefer.
