Preparing for the Autumn Internationals

The England Rugby squad was back in the Algarve, training at Browns Vilamoura in preparation for the Autumn Internationals. Regular visitors to the central Algarve training facility, the most recent visit was the squad's third this year.

With generally reliable weather (over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year), the Algarve is an ideal sports training centre for teams looking for a great winter training location. Browns, located in Vilamoura in the central Algarve (read our guide to Vilamoura), has all the facilities that big teams look for in a training venue. There is a full size, natural grass pitch as well as an astroturf pitch, a high performance gym, heated pool, ice baths, running track and more.

The 32 man squad were in training at Browns in the first week of November. Coach Eddie Jones is no stranger to Browns having also trained the Saracens at the venue. He said “Food is great, weather is great, people are wonderful and Brown’s is a fantastic clinic for us.”

It's not just rugby teams that make use of the super facilities at Browns. The centre regularly welcomes international and professional football teams, athletics teams and an array of GAA county teams for both football and hurling.
