Mediterranean Regional Grills International Seafood Portuguese Taberna da Maré, near the Portimão riverside, is a small, charming eatery where you can experience the full flavours of great Algarvian dishes. Taberna da Maré is an old-style tavern, serving up delicious and hearty food that has been enjoyed by generations, with a keen eye for quality and flavour. True to its roots, the menu here is packed with tempting dishes that showcase the fabulous local seafood and fresh fish - fresh squid, marinated mackerel, fresh fish of the day, grilled over charcoal, and a selection of quality meats.

There is an outside dining area that is the spot of choice during the summer. It's perfect for people watching as it overlooks the bustling riverside area where, years ago, ships unloaded their catches on the docks, and where today locals and visitors savour excellent food.

The inside area is cosy, with long wooden tables and benches, with the white-washed walls decorated with black and white photos showing Portimão of the past.
