A lively area all year round

This stretch of sandy beach is renowned for its pedestrianised zone that runs the length of the beach. It is ideal for push chairs, bicycles, roller skates and wheelchairs, making the area very popular with family members of all ages.

There are no rocks on the beach and the water is calmed by a series of breakwaters. Plus, the beach is manned by lifeguards during high season, so it's perfect for safer swimming and ideal for children.

Located just east of Vilamoura, Quarteira beach has dozens of cafés and typical local restaurants. During the summer months there's great live music at the beachfront bars.

If you take a stroll along Quarteira ‘Marginal’ at night time during August you will join the throngs of locals stopping to chat whilst enjoying an ice cream, or live music and dancing in front of the restaurants.

Quarteira is also renowned for holding events year-round. There is ample parking, along the seafront and the Avenida, which runs the length of Quarteira.
