Osiris Yacht Sailing Cruises

Come aboard the Osiris, a traditional portuguese sail boat, for fabulous sea cave cruises along the wonderful Algarve coast. Visit Benagil cave and Ponta da Piedade, enjoy lunch on board, and maybe even spot some dolphins! Departs from Portimão, with trips running every day in the summer.

Docked at Portimão, the Osiris is easily recognizable – she is one of the few remaining, operational, traditional sailing boats, with wooden decking and great white sails. This old-style yacht exudes great elegance and evokes memories of the golden age of the Discoveries when Portuguese ships ruled the seas and discovered new lands.

Full day Cruise (7 hours) : Onboard the Osiris you sail from Portimão, heading west towards Lagos and the fantastic rock formations at Ponta da Piedade. You may even encounter some dolphins on the way as the Algarve waters are home to many of these wonderful creatures. At Ponte da Piedade, a small boat takes you into the caves and grottes so you can best appreciate the magical scenery. The boat anchors here so you can enjoy a swim in the clear water, relax on the deck and enjoy lunch on board (chicken, salad, bread, fruit, wine,water). On the return, wind permitting, the sails are unfurled, and the Osiris heads tranquilly back to harbour.

BenagilSea Caves Cruise (3 hours): Setting sail from Portimão , the Osiris heads towards the magnificent sea cave of Benagil.  Nature has sculpted some amazing forms from the rocks over the years and the Benagil cave is surely one of the most impressive, the massive domed ceiling opening to allow sunlight to stream down from above onto the translucent water. The small boats used for this cruise are perfect for exploring the many caves along the coast.. There is time to enjoy a swim and to simply relax on deck taking in the scenery. Drinks are served on board during the trips (wine and water).
