Barca Arade
The Barca Arade was crafted as a replica of traditional river boats from the 15th century. At the time, the Arade River was a busy commercial waterway, bringing good and people from the coast to the town of Silves, the ancient capital of the Algarve region.
Today, you can make the same journey in the Barca Arade - a relaxing, hypnotic boat trips along the calm river, in a peaceful and natural setting. The trip to Silves is about 15km, and there is time to explore the town before setting off downriver once more.
The Barca Arade also sails along the coast to the legendary Benagil cave - one of the largest and most scenic caves in the region. A massive, domed cave, carved by nature, Benagil is one of the most photographed spots in the Algarve.
