The Portuguese band HMB will be headlining at Albufeira's New Year celebrations this year.
The county of Albufeira will be celebrating the end of 2018 and the start of the New Year with four days of festivities. There's something for everyone!
The party starts on December 28th, with another edition of the stand-up comedy festival Solrir, which will run until 1st January and will be held at theP alácio de Congressos do Algarve, in Salgados, while Paderne Medieval Festival opens on 29th December for four days of Medieval revelry. In addition, on the night of 29th, there will be a parade of street performers - Star Parade - on Avenida Sá Carneiro.
The highlight of the programme will be the end of year party on 31st December, starting at 9.30pm in Praça dos Pescadores that will feature Portuguese soul and funk band HMB. Wilson Honrado, Radio Comercial DJ and Fernando Daniel will also be on stage during the evening. Plus, party goers can enjoy the traditional fireworks displays, which will be launched in three different locations: Praça dos Pescadores and the beaches of Oura and Olhos de Agua.
Albufeira is renowned for its New Year celebrations and about 150 thousand visitors are expected this year.
