The Portugal Open returns to the Algarve's Morgado Golf Course this May and integrates the 'IberianSwing' with the Challenge of Spain and Andalusia Costa del Sol Match Play 9.
The Portugal Open, presented by the PGA and Nau Hotels, is one of the oldest and most emblematic events of golf's main European circuit . In 2017, the English winner was Matt Wallace, who went on to compete in the European Tour circuit.
This year, the tournament returns to the Morgado Golf Resort in Portimão, with a prize money of €200,000. There are 156 golfers in this years competition from all around the world, including 15 Portuguese golfers.
The Portugal Open is one of the oldest and one of the most emblematic tournaments of the European agenda. When the European Tour was created in 1972, Open de Portugal was already in existence since 1953, and was one the founding events of the European first division.
