Casa de Mondo – a house of the world, for all the world. Casa de Mondo is an idyllic oasis of calm and fun, a leafy, lush and colourful wedding venue, private party spot, cooking school and all round secret garden retreat. It’s where you can indulge in the best things in life – great food and conversation, true hospitality and a beautiful natural setting - to inspire the romantic, the artist, the poet and the bon vivant in each of us.
Casa de Mondo is a superb romantic wedding venue or private party spot for those seeking an intimate and unique experience. A very private location, the gardens are filled with flowers and birdsong and dotted with Mondo’s sculptures, the pool area is perfect for relaxation and the outside dining patio sits in dappled sunshine that streams through the trees. Hosts Harriett and Mondo arrange each detail of your wedding to reflect your personality and wishes, with some additional touches of Casa de Mondo magic to create your perfect scenario. There are several bedroom suites in the grounds, that can be used by guests who wish to stay over, or for pre-wedding preparations. Menus are created for each wedding, from world cuisines to rustic BBQs, with drinks and cocktail reception in the sunny grounds and dinner beneath the stars.
For private parties, such as family celebrations, birthdays or creative hen parties, Casa de Mondo can be your secluded retreat for the day or for an evening. Drinks by the pool, relaxation in the sunshine, followed by delicious food. Add in an Italian cooking session with a chef from Rome, an art class or creative workshop and you have a very different and memorable celebration. A party at Casa de Mondo is like having a house party at your stylish, slightly quirky and very generous friend’s gorgeous house.
Casa de Mondo hosts regular cooking courses too, guided by Chef Jonathon Cloake. There are 5 day and 1 day courses available. The 5 day course is a residential course, where you get to discover the fabulous Algarve produce markets, rich in fresh, delicious fruit, vegetables and seafood as well as learning different world cusines. The courses are hands-on and all participants enjoy meals, wine and conversation together. During the 1 day course you learn some secrets of a particular cuisine, before getting involved in the cooking and then enjoying the results in a relaxed meal. Chef Eduardo, from Rome, heads up the Italian cooking workshops and there are are also classes on Thai and Indian cooking available.
In addition to the cooking courses, Casa do Mondo also runs courses on writing, art, cake decorating, yoga, singing….All the courses share the Casa de Mondo zest for life. Harriett and Mondo believe the world is full of interesting, talented and creative people, even if they don’t know it, and Casa de Mondo is where they go to unleash their unexplored flair.
