Rota do Petisco returns to the Arade

After visiting Terras do Infante and a season in Terras da Ria, Rota do Petisco (the Tapas Route) returns to its origins this September.
From 8th September until 15th of October, Portimão, Lagoa, Silves and Monchique will host another edition of Rota do Petisco, an event which has thrilled food lovers for the past seven years. This year, there will be more than 160 restaurants and bakeries that will offer petisco (tapas) with special menus at irresistible prices:
- Petisco menu - €3 (petisco and a drink)
- Sweet menu - €2 (sweet and a drink)
To dine at the above prices, simply present your Passaporte da Rota - the Rota do Petisco pocket guide, which can be purchased at participating establishments and Information Stations for the event.
The Rota do Petisco – Terras do Arade includes several options that make it unique. Younger diners are invited to join the party, with menus especially planned for them - The Route of the Little ones! The Route of the World invites you to sample the flavours of international gastronomy. And, new this year, The Chef's Route, which invites seven chefs to present their creations inspired by the traditions and products of the earth.
Local production and Sustainable Tourism for Development are features of this year's event: look out for the Green Stamp, which will be displayed on all participating establishments offering menus made with local products and thus having less environmental impact.
In addition, The Market Route invites you to visit Portimão Municipal Market and purchase the freshest and most delicious products at attractive prices. AND, if a shopping trip without spending too much sounds like a good idea, check out The Trade Route: Local traders will be opening their doors and offering unique discounts on selected goods, to shoppers presenting their Passaporte da Rota.
