Meet the winemaker at Epicur in Faro this September.
Meet Andreia Cabrita (Owner & Resident Winemaker) at this unique event, where you will get to know Cabrita wines and the winemakers. There will be plenty of opportunity to taste the wines too and you will be able to buy your favourites at cellar prices.
About Cabrita wines, Silves
The tradition of Cabrita wine dates back to 1977. It was in this year that José André, a fruit merchant, acquired Quinta da Vinha and produced traditional Algarvian grapes such as Crato, Manteúdo, Negra-Mole and Castelão. José André's 'homemade' wine was, at the time, recognised for its quality. Later, his son, José Manuel Cabrita, took over the business. In 2007 the first wines of these new vineyards, Cabrita tinto and rosé, were born. Eleven years later, the Cabrita portofolio has 8 different wines, and covers nearly 14 hectares of vineyard, where the focus is growing Portuguese grape varieties and, in particular, Algarve grape varieties such as Negra Mole or Moscatel.
About Epicur Wine Bar and Boutique
Epicur, located in Faro, is home to an impressive range of Portuguese wines, many available by the glass, accompanied by a tasty selection of tapas, charcuterie and cheese. Epicur hosts regular workshops and events.
