The Festa da Espiga is a traditional annual celebration, held 40 days after Easter in the picturesque village of Salir. The 'Espiga' is an arrangement of ears of wheat to symbolise abundance, mixed with flowers to symbolise the beauty of the countryside, bound together with an olive branch to represent peace. This is a truly traditional event and a great opportunity to visit a typical Algarvean village with spectacular views across the countryside. What's more, there will be dancing in the street, music, food and fun for all!
