SandCity, home to the International Sand Sculpture Festival (FIESA) in Pêra, Algarve, is hosting FREE Art Workshops and Fado Nights.
Celebrating 15 years of amazing sand sculptures, this year SandCity is promoting a series of free art workshops and live music.
ART
In the art studio, artist Lisa Zeitvogel works with children or adults in sand sculpting sessions and in artistic activities involving painting, drawing, music and dance, such as the 'Stroke Movement', in which participants paint from the rhythm of music, or 'Famouse Transformation', in which participants get to reinterpretation a work of art.
LIVE MUSIC
On the SandCity sandbox, where great Portuguese fado singers have been sculpted, you can enjoy evening performances by well-known fado singers.

FIESA 2017
The FIESA exhibition this year is dedicated to the Arts, presenting an interconnected set of more than 80 scenes that illustrate theatre, dance, music, literature, architecture, painting, cinema and photography, among other forms of Artistic expression.
FIESA is the largest exhibition of sand sculptures in the world, due to the amount of sand used; 45 thousand tons, and the magnitude of some sculpted pieces.
SandCity is open to the public until 31st October. The exhibition is open day and night - it's very magical at night, when it's illuminated.
