Praia Verde

A great beach if you want to escape the crowds

Praia Verde is located 60km from Faro and just 10km from Spain.

The beach of Praia Verde is probably the least developed of the beaches in eastern Algarve and it’s proximity to the Mediterranean means that the waters here are naturally warmer.

Praia Verde takes its name from its surrounding greenery - a row of trees and bushes along the land side of this wide endless beach. The beach is an environmentally protected area and the cool pine tree area nearby offers alternative shade if you need a break from the heat during the day.

The beach is a vast expanse of white sand which seems endless making it ideal for a nice long walk. Facilities on the beach include the rental of water sports equipment, and sun beds, there are bars and a restaurant and there are life guards on duty during the bathing season.

Access to the beach can be by way of a slightly "bumpy" road but with ample parking or the alternative is the pedestrian path where some steep steps need to be negotiated.

Praia Verde is perfect for families and the ideal beach to choose if you are looking to avoid the crowded places along the coast.
