Fabulous four star beach resort in Alvor
The hotel boasts a superb location right by the beach. Alvor beach is one of the best in the region, with a long sandy expanse to the west and interesting cove beaches and cliff top walks to the east. The hotel has direct access to the beach - it's literally just steps from your room, through the gardens and there you are! The landscaped gardens and the shimmering ocean are the perfect scenery for a wedding in the sun. The hotel is set amid spacious gardens, with many spots for relaxing in the shade of a palm tree dotted around the resort. One of the most popular features is the lovely mini golf course that runs through the gardens. There are is a large (olympic sized!) salt-water pool overlooking the beach with sunloungers, sun deck , bar and restaurant. There is an additional circular salt-water pool by the Dom João villas. Both pools overlook the beach. There is an indoor pool, turkish bath and relaxation room and for families, there is a Kids Club that runs during the summer months.
The rooms are modern and comfortable with garden view, sea view rooms and suites available. There are also some beachfront villas at the resort. There is a choice of restaurants and bars at the hotel, including a fabulous summer beach restaurant. The boardwalk, that runs along Alvor beach and by the Ria de Alvor dunes is easily accessed from the hotel and is a great spot for summer evening strolls.
The Pestana Dom João II is just a few minutes walk to Alvor village - a charming fishing village with an excellent choice of restaurant, bars and things to do.
